No, dear readers, I’m not making this up. A link to the article in the County newspaper is included in this post.

“Yolo County held its first-ever Aging Summit on Thursday in an effort by local officials and health care providers to confront and fix what they say is a flawed elder care system.”
The event ,consisted of eight workshops and several lectures by policymakers and experts on health, housing, law and transportation as they pertain to the elderly.
Sponsored by the county Board of Supervisors, the city of Woodland and the Yolo County Commission on Aging and Adult Services, the all-day event drew about 275 people, organizers estimated.
“In addition to familiar refrains such as, "Communicate openly with your doctor," the day's workshops also offered some facts and advice that caught the gray-haired audience members off guard. “
One example: Don't hire a prostitute.
"One thing I see a lot of in my work with the elderly is prostitution - as men get older and they see a younger woman who might be willing to engage in a sexual relationship with them if they give her money," said David Akulian, a prosecutor in the Yolo County District Attorney's Office, who spoke at the event's "Aging and the Law" workshop. "These prostitutes clean these guys out (financially). And then the victims are reluctant to testify because it's horribly embarrassing."
